RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond police have charged a man with a felony after 1,500 tires were found in his yard.

Officers received a call from the Department of Public Works about a man dumping tires in the 3700 block of Stockton Street. Police arrived on the scene and identified the man as Dalvonne Deveaux, who lives in that block.

Police said Deveaux was dumping and storing the tires in the area. However, he told police he owned a business where he hauls tires away and was planning on disposing and making a fence out of the tires.

Police and the Department of Public Works investigated further and charged Deveaux with improper disposal of tires, which is a class 6 felony, illegal dumping, and other unrelated charges.
