(WWBT) - There is an email scam going around targeting Netflix users.
The Grand Rapids Police Department in Michigan is warning everyone of an email phishing scam that has been going around to Netflix customers alerting them that their account will be deactivated because the company "could not validate billing information."
The email then prompts customers to click on a link to enter their personal information, which includes credit card numbers.
"This is not a legitimate email from Netflix and your accounts may be compromised/identity fraudulently used if you provide information," said the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Those who have received the email should delete it without clicking on the links.
Netflix customers should go directly to the website to check their account status.
