HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - A special education teacher at Hanover High School is in jail, accused of possessing child pornography.
Deputies arrested 28-year-old Gabriel Davin Fowler on Friday. He faces six counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Fowler is currently being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail.
Hanover County Public Schools confirms Fowler is currently on administrative leave. Fowler has been working as a special education teacher with HCPS since August 2016. He was previously a substitute at various other schools since November 2014.
HCPS says Fowler also served as the girl's JV volleyball head coach at Hanover HS and an assistant girl's JV basketball coach at Patrick Henry HS.
"While our policy prohibits the release of further details concerning personnel related matters, we obviously take this very seriously. We will continue to work closely and in full cooperation with the Hanover County Sheriff's Office," stated HCPS.
