HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

For weeks, 12 On Your Side has been working to get answers for people who say a Henrico consignment store ripped them off.

Customers says they trusted Susan's Selections, also known as More Than Moving for Seniors, to sell their items, but the customers say they never got the money they were owed. The companies supposedly shut down. The founder and president has finally contacted NBC12.

Thanks to alerts from viewers, Henrico reporter Ashley Monfort found out that this company could still be in business, just under a different name.

James Wald says he's out hundreds of dollars after trusting the now shut down consignment store, Susan's Selections, to sell his items. Weeks after first speaking with NBC12, Wald has still not heard back from the company.

"I do feel helpless," he said. "There's nothing that can be done, I don't think."

He's not alone. After the story first aired, NBC12 received email after email from other customers with similar claims.

Susan's Selections and More Than Moving for Seniors once operated out of a building on West Marshall Street. It has since shut down.

An email from president and founder Susan Campbell says, "No business has been done since February 18, 2017." She also sent a press release, saying the company suffered hardships, citing the inability to pay for expanding the store, the credit crisis and the failure of a business consultant.

She says, "At this point, More Than Moving has no funds to operate or pay outstanding obligations, no assets to sell or liquidate and no prospects for financing or to restart the business. We have valued our relationships with our customers, vendors and the public. We wish that these relationships could continue. Unfortunately, that is not the case."

But the websites for both companies are still asking for business, and viewers reached out when notices were received about an auction under the name MTM Liquidations. According to its website, the auction happened last week in Amelia.

The BBB's website says that company is also known as More than Moving for Seniors and Susan's Selections. The business has an F rating, citing numerous complaints, and the BBB even says it tried to contact MTM Liquidations, but it has not received a response.

The CEO is listed as Roy Lambertson, who was listed as the CEO for both companies before the name change. We visited the address listed for MTM Liquidations, and called and emailed Lambertson. NBC12 still have not yet heard back.

The Virginia Attorney General’s office says to file a complaint online if you have an issue with Susan’s Selections/More Than Moving for Seniors, Inc.
