Amber alert canceled, kids safe after Portsmouth mom allegedly threatened to kill sons

PORTSMOUTH, VA (WWBT) -

Police have canceled an Amber alert issued for two missing boys in Portsmouth.

The two boys were dropped off at a family member's home shortly after midnight on Saturday. Police believe they were abducted by their mother, who is still on the run.

The Portsmouth Police Department says 24-year-old Asia D. Jarvis has made threats to kill both her children. 5-year-old Dominique Eugene Jarvis and 1-year-old Messiah Khyon Jones-Jarvis were believed to be in extreme danger when police sent out the alert on Friday at 8:54 p.m. The alert was canceled at 12:11 a.m. Saturday.

Asia is described as a black female about 5'8" tall and 215 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.
