RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Clean your hands and clean the kitchen. Those were the messages from health inspectors to a couple of restaurants on their last check-up.
DaVinci's Pizza at 319 East Broad Street in Richmond had a lot of cleaning to do after their last health inspection. The report shows 4 priority violations, 6 priority foundation, and 8 core violations. The inspector noted telling them to repair a leak in the walk-in cooler because condensation was dripping and could splash onto food. The report also says dirty bowls and pans were on a shelf, the vent hood was dripping grease, and the fridge, freezer, oven, sinks, flour rack, and floors all needed cleaning. Nine of the other violations were fixed during the inspection. We called the manager about the rest, but haven't heard back.
Next is Hong Kong Kitchen at 2907 Williamsburg Road in Henrico with 4 priority violations, plus 3 priority foundation violations. The inspector wrote that an employee failed to wash their hands before food preparation and there were improper handwashing procedures. The report also shows fried rice wasn't reheated to a high enough temperature, and egg rolls and fried chicken made two days earlier were not date marked. But all violations were corrected before the inspection was over.
