DANVILLE, VA (WWBT) - A Danville woman's Facebook post about a special missing quilt has had more than 80,000 shares through Facebook, but that quilt is still missing.
"I just realized that my son took this quilt to Goodwill by mistake on March 8," Rachel Gibson Bowen wrote on Facebook last week. "The top was made by my grandmother and it was finished and given to me by some of my best friends last year."
Bowen says the quilt was taken to a Goodwill on Westover Drive in Danville, "but (it) could've been sent to any of the Goodwill stores."
In a message to NBC12 this week, Bowen says the quilt may have had a patch with names removed.
"If anyone has seen it or if someone purchased it, please, I will buy it from you," she wrote. "It is beyond priceless to me, because both my mom and my grandmother are in Heaven now."
Bowen says she is offering a $500 reward for the quilt. If you see it, call her at (434) 251-4280.
