RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Two Payless stores in Central Virginia are among the 400 stores are closing after the company said it's filing for bankruptcy.
Those locations at Virginia Center Commons in Glen Allen and Chippenham Forest Square in Richmond.
In a statement on Tuesday, Payless CEO W. Paul Jones called this a "difficult, but necessary decision driven by the continued challenges of the retail environment."
The company is also closing stores in Virginia Beach, Roanoke, Chesapeake and Leesburg.
