(WWBT) - Virginia's own TSoul performed on "The Voice" on Tuesday after surviving the battle round last week.
The Northumberland County native won during Tuesday night's knockout round.
Last week, he stopped by Central Virginia and performed at his high school.
He also stopped by the NBC12 News studios on March 24 to talk about his journey competing on "The Voice."
"I'm a country boy from Virginia, and those country roots, they're gonna always be instilled in me," he said. "Blake has a knowledge of this show that allowed him to win five or six times now, and hopefully number seven will be happening pretty soon."
He also talked about the journey his singing career has been on since he learned to play piano at the age of 5, graduated high school in Northumberland County and was in the Virginia State University Gospel Chorale.
"That choir travels all over the world, so I was able to get the experience of a lifetime with them, but it also showed me the ins and outs of traveling on the road and having a band and a group of people," he said. "The love that's been coming in from Richmond has been amazing. I walk in the store and people walk by and say, 'Aren't you from the Voice?'"
TSoul now moves on to the live final performance phase of the competition.
