The family of a little Midlothian boy, who was battling a rare form of cancer, posted a heartbreaking update on Facebook.

Beckett Wyatt passed away around 4 p.m. on Sunday. He was battling a rare form of a stage 4 cancer and was diagnosed back in June.

Beckett was welcomed by his Heavenly Father to eternal life. He is free from pain and is once again free from the disease that would ultimately cut his life tragically short on Earth. He fought hard and along the way, never gave up hope and showed all of us what courage, bravery and a positive spirit is. He touched the lives of those around him and because of this he'll never be forgotten. Services will be at the end of the week and details will follow when times and places are set.

Since he was diagnosed, he has been checking fun things to do off his bucket list, and taking a helicopter ride was among them.

Earlier this month, he was picked up from the soccer field at the Midlothian Family YMCA and went on a magical helicopter ride to VCU Medical Center.
