HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

If you like top-of-the-line merchandise but know your budget will take a beating if you buy it, our Diva of Discounts has your answer.

This weekend marks Curtain Call's 20th year. The consignment sale is where fancy items become affordable.

When you hear the words "custom-made," "luxury," and "designer," you assume there's a hefty price tag attached. Not here.

”Everything from tassels and tiebacks, to curtain rods and rings, to drapes, to bedding, furniture, lamps, rugs, mirrors pictures, you name it," Anjie Furbee lists several of the items on sale. Curtain Call's annual consignment sale is chock full of bargains -- more than 10,000 to be exact -- at prices you'll never find in a retail store. ”They can get window treatments here for one-tenth of the price. The difference between custom-made and store-bought is that they're lined, they're interlined. Some of these are designer high-end fabrics.”

Some of these items come from designers looking to clear inventory, the rest come from consigners who are downsizing or changing styles.

"We get thousands of pillows in and it's a real inexpensive way to decorate your home. When you get a pillow that's custom-made, it's $30 versus paying $200 for a pillow going to a designer. If you're looking for bedding at bargain prices, we have it. King to a queen, full, double, and twin," said Furbee.

Some are unique items you won't find anywhere else, others are still sold at high-end stores.

"If you visited the Symphony Designer House this year in Ginter Park, this was in the study and you can get them at a much better price than you would get them through the designer direct," she explained.

Their newly doubled space allows for a much wider array of merchandise. When the sale ends, you've got another chance to score a deal. Any item that hasn't sold goes up for auction on Ebid Local where the market will determine the final sale price.

Curtain Call opens to the public this Saturday at 11 a.m.

It's in Henrico in the Canterbury shopping center at the corner of Pump Road and Patterson Avenue.
