RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested a convicted sex offender Tuesday after receiving a tip from an NBC12 viewer.

John Edward Hall was wanted for a probation violation and for failing to register as a sex offender in Dinwiddie, Chesterfield, and Richmond.

Officials say he cut his GPS bracelet off on June 14.

He previously served time for raping a child and for failing to register as a violent sex offender in Virginia.

Hall was featured on NBC12's Fugitive Friday list on November 18.
