NBC12 partners with iHeartMedia to raise over $200,000 benefiting Children's Hospital of Richmond

This year's #36HoursforKids radiothon was an amazing success, as we smashed last year's record and raised over $200,000!

On Wednesday, November 30 and Thursday, December 1 from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Richmond’s most popular on-air radio personalities from Q94, Richmond’s No. 1 Hit Music Station, MIX 98.1, Today's Variety, and 1140 WRVA, Richmond's News, Weather & Traffic Station, all worked together to share inspiring stories about children who were treated at Children’s Hospital of Richmond.

“It’s not my hair that makes my beauty, it’s my heart” said Caroline, a 6-year-old who lost her hair due to chemotherapy.

Caroline is one of the many special guests that shared their stories with the listeners during the broadcast.

On Thursday at 7 p.m., the total amount raised had reached $207,283.

Listeners can still donate by going online to helpmakemiracles.org now through December 31.

Your donation will ensure local children have access to the care they need and deserve today and for years to come.

Every dollar raised remains in Richmond to support Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and will help treat local children.

At Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, no child is turned away regardless of their ability to pay.

Children’s Hospitals do not specialize in treatment for only one illness. Children’s Hospital treats all types of injuries and illnesses – from broken bones to life-long illnesses like cerebral palsy to cancer diagnoses.
