HIGHLAND SPRINGS, VA (WWBT) - Henrico Police charged a woman with second-degree murder after a body was found Thursday morning in her Highland Springs townhome.
Around 7 a.m. Thursday, police say Sheena Yolonda Wilson, 33, showed up at a Richmond Police station and told officers to go check on her girlfriend whom she lives with at the Viviana Hall townhomes in the 800 block of Pleasant Street. Wilson was covered in blood and said there was an altercation with the victim, Ava Latae Tucker, 26. Tucker was stabbed to death according to sources and later found in her bed by officers.
"She was a caring wonderful girl," said Chris Tucker, Ava Tucker's uncle, who arrived later in the morning. "She didn't deserve that. She didn't deserve it at all."
Neighbors say Tucker and Wilson moved into the Viviana Hall townhomes a few months ago. Tucker worked for a mortgage company.
"They're generally very quiet. We didn't hear anything out of them at all," said next door neighbor Kim Jackson.
However, people who live closest to the pair heard a commotion overnight.
"My neighbor heard a big boom sound. And then she said she heard a tussling… somebody scream," continued Jackson.
Neighbors watched in disbelief as Henrico police swarmed the complex, something longtime resident Judy French says she's never seen in 40 years.
"We've never had anything like this that I can remember," said French.
Police are still asking the community for help with this case. If you know anything, please call Henrico police or Crime Stoppers, 804-780-1000
