NBC12/RVA Sports Network Big 12 Poll - Week of Oct. 17

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Here is the NBC12/RVA Sports Network ‘Big 12’ high school football poll, as voted on by members of each organization:

1) Dinwiddie (7-0, last week #2) The Generals move into the top spot in our poll for the first time this season following a 48-12 win over Prince George. Up next: vs. Colonial Heights

2) Hermitage (6-1, last week #4) – Hermitage moves up two spots in this week’s poll to #2 after knocking off top-ranked Manchester in Friday’s game of the week. Up next: at Godwin

3) LC Bird (5-1, last week #3) – The Skyhawks held steady at #3 following a 35-6 win over Cosby. Up next: vs. George Wythe

4) Highland Springs (6-1, last week #5) – Highland Springs beat Lee-Davis by 28 and were rewarded with a move up one spot to #4. Up next: at Henrico

5) Manchester (6-1, last week #1) – Manchester tumbled four spots in this week’s poll – from #1 to #5 – after suffering their first loss of the season Friday at Hermitage. Up next: at Clover Hill

6) Douglas Freeman (7-0, last week #6) – The Rebels stayed at #6 this week despite remaining unbeaten with a win over JR Tucker. Up next: vs. Deep Run

7) Thomas Dale (5-2, last week #8) – Thomas Dale’s 42-14 win over Petersburg was enough to convince the voters that the Knights deserved to move up one spot this week. Up next: at Meadowbrook

8) Monacan (7-1, last week #7) – Monacan routed George Wythe 67-0 on Friday but still dropped one spot in this week’s poll. Up next: vs. Midlothian

9) Goochland (8-0, last week #12) – All the Bulldogs do is win and they did so again, 45-16 over Nottoway on Friday.  Goochland moved up three spots to #9 this week. Up next: vs. Central

10) Patrick Henry (6-1, last week NR) – Patrick Henry returned to the poll this week following a win over Armstrong.  Up next: vs. Atlee

11) Benedictine (5-1, last week NR) – Benedictine also makes it’s return to the Big 12 poll this week following a win over Bishop Ireton. Up next: at Woodberry Forest 10/22

12) Henrico (5-2, last week #9) – Henrico dropped three spots but is still ranked after losing to 28-25 to Atlee. Up next: vs. Highland Springs
