NBC12/ RVA Sports Network Big 12- Week of September 26

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Below is the latest NBC12/ RVA Sports Network Big 12 high school football poll, as voted on by members of each organizations staffs.

1) Manchester (4-0, last week #1)- The Lancers held off a pesky James River squad to remain undefeated. Manchester next two opponents have a combined one win, before a tough finishing stretch that includes, Hermitage, Monacan, and Cosby. vs. George Wythe, 9/30

2) Dinwiddie (4-0, last week #2)- In what was billed on paper as their toughest test to date, the Generals didn't skip a beat, as their high-powered offense took care of Hopewell. Dinwiddie is averaging 59.5 points per game, and its lowest points output for a game has been 48. @ Matoaca, 9/30

3) Hermitage (3-1, last week #3)- Herm put up 38 first half points against J.R. Tucker and they were more than enough to get a victory. A team that replaced 18 starters continues to make progress and win as it heads towards the back half of the schedule. vs. John Marshall, 9/30

4) L.C. Bird (4-1, last week #4)- The Skyhawks bounced back from their first loss of the season in convincing fashion against Clover Hill. It's been a decade since Bird has lost two regular season games in a season, and the Hawks will look to avoid changing that against perfect Monacan this week. vs. Monacan, 9/30

5) Highland Springs (3-1, last week #5)- After a loss and an open date, the Springers finally got back on the field and took their frustrations out on Armstrong. Quarterback Juwan Carter was back on the field, after leaving the previous game with a knee injury. @ Atlee, 9/30

6) Monacan (5-0, last week #8)- The Chiefs cruised past Huguenot to remain perfect, but now get ready for the toughest test of their season so far, as they'll visit L.C. Bird this Friday. @ L.C. Bird, 9/30

7) Douglas Freeman (4-0, last week #9)- Freeman dominated John Marshall to remain unbeaten and jumps up two spots. vs. Thomas Jefferson, 9/30

8) Thomas Dale (3-1, last week #10)- The Knights took care of Colonial Heights in their Central District opener, with two first quarter interceptions to get things started. vs. Prince George, 9/30

9) Benedictine (3-0, last week #12)- The Cadets pulled away for a big 36-7 win over Liberty Christian. Isaiah Anderson is fitting in well under center for Benedictine, while Ellis Brooks came up with several key tackles to fuel the defensive effort. @ Bishop O'Connell, 9/30

10) Patrick Henry (4-0, last week NR)- For the first time since 2006, the Patriots have started a season 4-0, thanks to a gritty 7-6 win over Henrico on Friday night. Patrick Henry's defense bent but didn't break for most of the evening in a signature win for Bryan Davis and the modern history of the program. vs. Hanover, 9/30

11) Henrico (3-1, last week #6)- The Warriors couldn't find the endzone more than once against Patrick Henry last week, the first time their offense has been shut down this season. vs. Varina, 9/30

12) Lee-Davis (3-1, last week #7)- The Confederates hang onto a spot in the poll, despite a loss to Varina, in a game many thought the Blue Devils had to have. @ Armstrong, 9/30

Dropped out: Hopewell (2-2)
