3 arrested on I-195 after shooting near South Richmond school

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Three men are under arrest after a shooting near Lucille M. Brown Middle School in South Richmond that sent one person to the hospital on Tuesday.

Police say they arrested the men on I-195 just north of Broad Street and also seized several firearms.

The three men arrested are:

•    Fletcher Robinson Jr., 26, of the 2600 block of Hilliard Road;
•    Waverly M. Robinson, 20, of the 2600 block of Hilliard Road, and;
•    Satwon L. McKnight, 19, of the 5200 block of Lewis Road.

The shooting happened around 4:16 p.m. at a shopping plaza parking lot across the street from the school. The victim was found at a nearby Shell station and taken to the hospital.

Witnesses gave police information about the suspects and the vehicle they were in. An officer spotted the vehicle heading north on the Powhite Bridge, and police pulled the vehicle over on I-195.

All three men are charged with attempted robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, with more charges possibly on the way.
