Area churches come together to explore God

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Hundreds of area churches are coming together over the next few weeks for one purpose.

You may have received a flier in the mail, or have seen a TV commercial inviting you to "Explore God." This is all part of a seven-week sermon series taking place at 150 churches throughout Richmond and the surrounding area.

The Explore God campaign asks and answers the seven big questions many people have regarding religion and Christianity.

"Things like why am I here? Why is there pain and suffering in the world? Is there a God? And we see this diversity happening among thirteen different denominations and all racial and ethnic groups coming together to bring this message to the city of Richmond," said WE Believe president Jamie Radtke.

"Our world is struggling right now and part of why our world is struggling is because people don't know how to work together. So, here's the church working together, but also answering big questions that people have about life and living.  And that's what the church's job is," said East End Fellowship Church pastor Donald Coleman.

In addition to churches, there are also nearly 200 discussion groups participating in this campaign.

Everyone is invited to take part in this city-wide conversation.
