RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Several Virginians who got Hepatitis A from food linked to Tropical Smoothie Cafe are filing lawsuits against the company.

The law firm, Marler-Clark, confirmed that they are working with several clients from Virginia to file a case against the company.

Marler-Clark is based in Seattle, Washington and claims to be the only practice in the country focused exclusively on foodborne illness litigation.

The Virginia Department of Health says there are 28 confirmed cases of Hep A linked to frozen strawberries used at Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

NBC12 has asked for more information from this law firm, helping people file claims against the restaurant. We will pass along this information as soon as we learn more.
