RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The race for the White House is heating up, and the Virginia Christian Alliance is jumping in the ring. The group's president, Don Blake, is not pulling any punches.

Blake says Hillary Clinton is evil, but he doesn't stop there. Blake feels Trump says "stupid stuff."

This all comes as Blake releases a letter that dates back to 2010, praising Tim Kaine.

"I can't wait to get this election over," said Blake. "It's killing me. It's killing our country. It's dividing our country."

Blake is taking the unusual step of releasing a private letter that dates back to 2010, praising Tim Kaine as a "good man."

"There are many Democrats that I personally like," said Blake. "We just don't agree on things. I thought he was a good mayor. I supported him to be mayor."

This conservative leader, who is actually a Donald Trump supporter, says he simply can't endorse his fellow Virginian because Clinton is at the top of the ticket.

"Hillary Clinton is an evil woman, and that's a shame, too," Blake said. "Tim Kaine is not a bad guy, but the woman he is partnering with is a bad person, and the Democratic platform is for the destruction of the United States as we know it."

Virginia Democrats are dismissing the apocalyptic rhetoric.

"How do you respond to something like that?" questioned Senator Donald McEachin, who is now running for the 4th Congressional District seat. "If his mind and his world view is that warped, that is not really someone you can find common ground with or have a discussion with."

The Clinton campaign is pushing ahead. They celebrated the launch of a new campaign office in Henrico on Tuesday night.

"The evil has been coming out of Donald Trump's mouth," said McEachin. "Whether it's evil things about Mexicans…evil things about Muslims…evil things about women. I mean, he has been preaching a campaign of hate throughout this whole election season."

"We know he says stupid stuff from day one. He will say stupid stuff again. Hopefully, he will get better," said Blake, who claims his main focus is who will choose the next supreme court justices. "There is nothing more important than who is going to choose the next three or four supreme court justices. So you can throw out anything that Trump says that is stupid, and he says a lot of stupid stuff. It is irrelevant. Everything he says is irrelevant. What he will do as president is what's relevant."

But just in case Clinton and Kaine end up in the White House, Blake hopes Kaine won't forget an old friend.

"If he makes it to the White House, he better call me up and give me a personal tour," said Blake with a smile.
