HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - A man sought by authorities in North Carolina in connection with a triple shooting that left a woman dead was arrested in Henrico.
According to NBC affiliate WAVY, officers arrested Shakur Deandre Stephenson just before 6 p.m. at an apartment complex in the county's East End.
Stephenson was wanted on one count of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder.
WAVY reports that at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday police responded to the Murphy Express on Highway 13 in Ahoskie, North Carolina and found that a store clerk had been shot. She was taken to the hospital and later died from her injuries.
Police later identified the clerk as 23-year-old Lakiesha Sutton.
WAVY10 reports that Stephenson shot at six people and hit three, including Sutton. The two other people shot, both men, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
