Highlights from Day 3 of the Olympics

RIO DE JANEIRO (WWBT) - Along with Townley Haas swimming in the 4x200m freestyle relay, two more Richmonders compete on Tuesday in Rio, while big names highlight the primetime schedule on NBC12.

Richmond's Reid Priddy leads the US Men's volleyball team against Italy live on NBC12 at 2 p.m. as the Americans look to rebound after a loss to Canada.

Another Richmonder, Casey Eichfeld, competes in the semifinal of the Men's whitewater canoe at 12:30 p.m.

The US Women's gymnasts compete in the team finals starting at 3 p.m. looking for back-to-back titles. Watch the team compete on NBC12 starting at 8 p.m.

Several of America's swimming stars will be competing for gold on Tuesday night. Katie Ledecky will go for gold in the 200M freestyle final at 9:19 p.m. live on NBC12. Then Michael Phelps gets a rematch with 2012 Olympic winner Chad le Clos of South Africa in the Men's 200m butterfly final. Plus, the US goes for a fourth consecutive gold in the men's 4x200m free relay. Conor Dwyer, who earned a bronze medal in the 200m freestyle, will lead the relay, followed by Henrico's own Townley Haas. Ryan Lochte will follow third and finally Michael Phelps will anchor.

Other highlights on NBC during the day include:

  • Beach Volleyball - Americans Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena against a duo from Mexico in preliminary-round beach volleyball action.
  • Water Polo - The defending champion, the United States, takes on Spain in a rematch of the 2012 Olympic final.
  • Swimming - Heats include 2012 Olympic champion Nathan Adrian in the Men's 100m free.
  • Beach Volleyball - In preliminary-round action from the sands of Copacabana Beach, Team USA’s Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat face gold-medal favorite Larissa/Talita of host Brazil.
