RIO DE JANEIRO (WWBT) - Four gold medals are up for grabs as Olympians take to the pool on Saturday, plus a Richmonder will be part of the first ever US Women's Olympic Rugby team.

The swimming finals feature American Connor Jaeger against a stacked field in the men's 400-meter freestyle. Men will also hit the water for the 400-meter individual medley. On the Women's side, two Americans are expected to contend for medals in the 400-meter individual medley with 2012 Olympic silver medalist Elizabeth Beisel and 2015 Worlds silver medalist Maya DiRado competing. Plus, the US women will try for gold in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay.
Richmonder Carmen Farmer and the rest of the US Women's Rugby team will take on Fiji at 1p.m. in pool play on NBC Sports Network, followed by another match at 5 p.m. on CNBC, this time against Colombia.
Other daytime highlights on NBC12 include:
- Cycling - Coverage includes the Men's individual road race in cycling, featuring Americans Taylor Phinney and Brent Bookwalter.
- Water Polo - The U.S. faces defending champion Croatia in each team’s opener.
- Volleyball – The United States, silver medalists at the past two Olympics, begins preliminary-round action against Puerto Rico, which qualified a women’s volleyball team to the Olympics for the first time. Richmonder Reid Priddy leads the team in its quest to for redemption after a 5th place finish in London at the 2012 Summer Games.
Action in Primetime on NBC12 along with the medal events in swimming, includes Americans Kerri Walsh Jennings and new partner April Ross make their Rio debut in Women's Beach Volleyball, with Walsh Jennings seeking a fourth consecutive gold.
Late night coverage on NBC12 includes the Men's team competition in gymnastics.
