RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond utility crews are working to fix a water main break just outside downtown on one of the hottest days of the year.
According to the Department of Public Utilities, a 12-inch water main broke in the 1500 block of Valley Road, just south of Holy Cross Cemetery and north of Downtown Richmond.
Utility officials report the break is affecting several businesses in the area, but an estimate of how many customers were impacted was not reported by crews.
As of 2:50 p.m., Richmond utility officials did not have a timetable for when water service would be fully restored to the area.
