RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
Richmond Police have identified the person that was killed in a shooting that happened near Mosby Court.
Officers were dispatched to the 2200 of Ford Avenue, just a short distance from the Richmond Sheriff's Office, for a report of a person shot around 7 p.m. Friday night.
Once on scene, they found a person, identified as 37-year-old James M. Williams, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Police are continuing to investigate what precipitated the shooting. In regards to a suspect description, police only said they are looking for a light-skinned black male with a red shirt and blue pants.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
Detectives believe several people in the area "may have witnessed the incident and can provide valuable information."
