RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Baseball at the Diamond is finally here and if you're looking for a fun a night out without breaking the bank, there are several ways to save.
I love taking my family to see the Flying Squirrels play, but between tickets, food and all the extras, it can really add up.
The first way to save is to buy your tickets at least one day before the game. If you get them the day of, you pay $13, $11, and $9 respectively. However, if you buy them in advance, you'll save one dollar per ticket.
If you plan on seeing at least eight games this season, the "Great 8" Plan can save you money. You get eight vouchers that can be used all at once or throughout the season. This can knock another $6 to $9 off your tickets price.
Each day of the week has a specific promotion tied to it. On Sunday, it's "Brunch and Baseball" where you get an all you can eat buffet plus a field level ticket for $25. Squirrel Tails Kids Club members get free admission to every Sunday game. Joining this club is absolutely free and your child will get to play catch on the field as well meet team members.
Mondays are for dog lovers. Bark in the Park welcomes your dog to the Diamond with pet related give aways.
Tuesday is Silver Squirrels Day. Seniors benefit from discounted tickets, food, and merchandise. "Buds and Burger " specials happen Tuesday as well.
Bring your ladies for Wednesday nights because there are lots of giveaways targeted to them plus wine specials for the first two hours.
If fireworks are your thing, you can get a close up on Thursday evenings.
No Friday is complete without happy hour. It lasts for two hours. Be one of the first 1,000 adults through the gates and you'll get a free shirt to take with you.
