RESTAURANT REPORT: Employee blew nose, did not wash hands

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - An inspector reported seeing a restaurant employee eat, handle a phone, and blow his nose, then start work without washing his hands. Then the same restaurant had another hand-washing violation three weeks later.

The restaurant is Full Kee, at 6400 Horsepen Road in Henrico. It had seven critical violations, plus eight non-critical. When the inspector returned three weeks later, Full Kee still had six critical violations, plus five non-critical, including meats sitting in a display at improper temperatures, and paint brushes being used as pastry brushes.

The restaurant wasn't open when we stopped by, so we called. We haven't heard back yet.

In Chesterfield, McDonald's at 15700 Woods Edge Road had four critical violations, plus five non-critical. The report says breakfast burritos and a liquid egg carton were sitting out at room temperature, and there was a black mold-like substance on the self-serve beverage nozzles. The operator threw out the burritos and liquid egg and cleaned the beverage nozzles on the spot. But when the inspector returned two weeks later, the report says the restaurant still had three critical and three non-critical. Then another ten days later, the health department found everything had been corrected.

We gave the NBC12 Hall of Fame Award to another fast food restaurant: Wendy's at 5212 Brook Road in Henrico. It has earned perfect scores on five of its last six health inspections.
