MEMPHIS, TN (WWBT) - The Memphis Grizzlies will sign former VCU guard Briante Weber to a 10-day NBA contract, per The Vertical on Yahoo Sports.
Weber has bounced back from reconstructive knee surgery to make 22 appearances for the Sioux Falls Skyforce this year, the NBA Developmental League team of the Miami Heat. He's averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists during his short professional career. He's also posting two steals per contest.
The guard left VCU as one of the greatest defensive players in program history, falling just short of the NCAA all-time steals record after his knee injury prematurely ended his collegiate career.
The Grizzlies' signing of Weber is expected to take place on Friday.
