HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - An election worker died in a crash on his way to a Hanover polling place on Tuesday morning, the county registrar confirmed.
Malcolm Gardner, Jr., 76, crashed around 5:03 a.m. at the intersection of Ashcake Road and Melton Road. Investigators say he was on his way to Patrick Henry High School to volunteer at the polls when his car "crossed over both lanes of Ashcake Road, struck an embankment, and rolled over several times."
