It's a pretty unusual Politifact this week. State Senator Jill Vogel caused quite a stir when she said kids as young as 12 are getting married here in Virginia.
Well, it turns out, what she said is mostly true.
Vogel introduced a bill that tries to stop those young marriages, for one reason:
"She wants to prevent situations where she says parents are coercing young teenagers to get married," said Richmond Times-Dispatch Reporter Sean Gorman.

A mistake in marriage records actually has a 13-year-old as youngest Virginian married in recent years, not a 12-year-old.
