RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Mayor Dwight Jones welcomed AvePoint to Richmond on Friday and announced 100 new technology jobs for the area.

AvePoint, a tech company that produces software that supports Microsoft Cloud applications is hiring what it calls "high paying" tech jobs to be based here in Richmond.

Richmond will become an operations center for the company, which is also bringing 55 new jobs to Arlington.

AvePoint leaders said after a competitive process they decided to come to Richmond. 

"So we're proud to be part of that train to bring jobs back into America," said Thomas Lin, AvePoint corporate vice president of North America Sales. "... The economic benefits ultimately lead us to decide to come to Richmond, Virginia."

AvePoint is headquartered in Jersey City, N.J., and employs 2,000 people worldwide in 27 offices. Available positions will be posted at www.avepoint.com/about/careers
