RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Altria announced Thursday that it is cutting up to 250 jobs in Richmond, part of a nationwide cut of 490 positions.
The parent company of the top U.S. cigarette maker Philip Morris USA says all of the positions are salaried employees.
Impacted employees will be notified from mid-February to early March. Company officials say severance packages will be offered.
Altria says its goal is to save about $300 million by the end of 2017.
