Chesterfield County Administrator to retire in July

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield County Administrator Jay Stegmaier announced that he will retire effective July 1.

Stegmaier has served as the administrator since 2007. He previously served as the director of the county's Budget and Management Department starting in 1986, then served as Deputy County Administrator for Management Services starting in 1997.

Stegmaier announced his plans for retirement at Thursday's department directors meeting after informing the Board of Supervisors Wednesday night. His replacement has not yet been determined.

Stegmaier and his wife, Margot, have three children who attended Chesterfield County schools.
