(WWBT) - The Hanover Health Department had a meeting with an Italian restaurant about risk factors and repeat violations, according to the health inspection reports.
It was at Italian Kitchen at 7522 Lee Davis Road in Mechanicsville. It had four critical violations, plus nine non-critical on its last health inspection. The report says what appeared to be roaches were in the gaskets of a prep unit and insects were in the dishwashing area. Plus, foods in a prep unit and a cooler were not being kept cold enough, so they were thrown out.
The next day, inspectors met with restaurant operators and noted that the critical violations were corrected and a pest controller was on-site. No more bugs were spotted.
In Richmond, Ho Wah Chinese Restaurant at 6323 Jahnke Road had four critical violations. Among them, the inspector wrote that knives, a peeler, and a chopper were soiled to sight and touch. They were cleaned and all other violations were corrected while the inspector was still on site.
Knockout Cheese Steak in the food court at Chesterfield Towne Center had four critical, plus seven non-critical violations. The report says foods in coolers were not cold enough. That and the other critical violations were fixed on the spot.
