COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (WWBT) -

A Hopewell police officer's weekend out in Colonial Heights ended with her facing charges and off the force.

Megan Fulcher, 28, was a member of the Hopewell Police Department for four years but is no longer employed with the department, according to the police chief. She faces a charge of drunk in public after her arrest on the Boulevard early Monday morning.

Eyewitnesses say Fulcher was involved in a disturbance at Benny's Tavern and was disrobing in the bar. They say she then ran out onto the Boulevard around 2 a.m. Monday where she was arrested.

Sources say Fulcher has been dealing with an alcohol problem. She was off the force on Tuesday following her latest incident.
