ETTRICK, VA (WWBT) - A man who sparked a standoff in Ettrick and escaped police is now behind bars.
Christopher Jones, 26, turned himself in Thursday night to Petersburg Police and is now at Riverside Regional Jail. He was wanted on four counts of attempted malicious wounding for a September shooting in Petersburg and was spotted by Chesterfield police on Wednesday afternoon.
When officers tried to catch Jones near the 20200 block of Gandy Avenue, he ran off into a home where his family apparently lives. Police say they sent a SWAT and negotiations team to the area, demanding the suspect to come out with his hands up. When they entered the house a few hours later, they discovered Jones had already left.
