A Mechanicsville teen who went missing on Sunday returned home safely on New Year's Day and an 18-year-old has been charged in the case.

Henrico police said she was a runaway and may be in danger. Virginia State Police also issued an endangered missing child alert for her on New Year's Eve.

Keefer's mother tells NBC12 her daughter was with someone she knew and came home on Friday morning. She said her daughter was doing well.
