Restaurant Report: Cafe & food truck win Hall of Fame

(WWBT) - For our Restaurant Report on this Christmas Eve, rather than show you the naughtiest of restaurants, we're going to honor some of the nicest.

The Urban Farmhouse has been growing fast, soon to add a sixth location. We gave the Hall of Fame Award to its cafe and market at 310 North 33rd Street for acing five health inspections.

"We have multiple training packets. We have training videos. More or less, it's about communication and people working together," said manager Matthew Zaremski.

The Urban Farmhouse website says their philosophy is to bring local, wholesome food from the farm to the city, and they're keeping things clean. "It's important to me because I care about the customers," said Zaremski. "I care about people's health and the food we serve them."

We also gave our Hall of Fame Award to the Wolf's Revenge BBQ food truck. Wolf's Revenge is a competition barbecue team, traveling the country and winning awards. "Last year we did twenty competitions in the Mid-Atlantic area," said Chiles Cridlin. "I'm happy to say that out of 2,800 teams, we finished 13th overall for chicken."

They've aced five health inspections, they say, because their truck was designed to stay clean, their rental kitchen at Kitchen Thyme helps them prepare, and they take cleaning as seriously as they take barbecue. "From that point I'd like to say it's gloves off," said Cridlin. "But it's actually gloves on and we get ready to do what we do best."
