Thousands turn out for Tacky Lights Run in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Thousands took to the streets to check out the tacky lights than by running by festive homes in Chesterfield.

The 6k CarMax run wasn't only a way to take in the lights in the Walton Park neighborhood and burn some holiday calories. It also supports a great cause. Sports Backers, in collaboration with the Richmond Area Bicycle Association, are raising funds to benefit children in under-served communities.

"This is our third annual event. It keeps getting bigger and better every year, more costumes, more enthusiasm," said CarMax's Leslie Parpart. "It's a great way to celebrate our hometown."

Money raised will go towards gifts for the need children, specifically athletic shoes and bikes.
