One of the most important things each and every one of us can do is take care of our health. With our aging population, evolving health care laws and the ever growing need to just live a healthy lifestyle are all good reasons for being concerned with our family's health.
Under the Affordable Care Act, non-profit health systems that operate one or more hospitals are required to conduct a community health need assessment every three years. With assistance from local health departments, social services, schools and local governments, the survey will help to provide an overall snapshot of the health of the community.
Through December 20, Bon Secours Richmond Health System is conducting a community health survey. The survey will help them identify areas of greatest need in the metro Richmond community with a goal of improving the health of the community.
Yes, it does take a couple of minutes to fill out a survey, but this one is relatively short, and I believe you will answer questions that you may not have otherwise thought to ask. Also, it's anonymous and is not designed to be a solicitation.
The survey is available in English and Español. Please share this information with people you care about and people you love.
And remember, the New Year is coming, so get that annual checkup and make sure your family gets theirs too.
