CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The patient transported to the hospital in critical condition after a bus crash that injured dozens of college students is now in stable condition.

"The patient is now in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery," said Lt. Jason Elmore with Chesterfield Fire and EMS.

34 passengers and the driver of a charter bus owned and operated by Abbott Trailways were injured after the crash on Sunday. Police say speed was a factor in the crash.

"We're just so sorry that anyone got injured, and hope everyone gets well," said Abbott Trailways manager, John Abbott.
