(WWBT) - A Chesterfield restaurant that usually does better on its health inspections, racked up the violations on its last one. Here's a look at where it happened and what went wrong in tonight's Restaurant Report.
It happened at Shogun Japanese Steak and Sushi at 7020 Woodlake Commons Loop in Chesterfield. It had seven critical violations, plus 12 non-critical on its last inspection. The report says one refrigerator was 57 degrees Fahrenheit, and a cooler was 50 degrees. They're supposed to be 41 degrees, so they were told to repair them. The report also says the premises were not being routinely inspected for pests. One violation was corrected during the inspection.
In Henrico, Big Al's Sports Bar and Grill at 3641 Cox Road had four critical violations. The inspector wrote that Cajun and marinara sauces were not being kept hot enough, so they were reheated. The report also says the dish washing machine was not using enough sanitizer, so it was adjusted to correct the problem.
We stopped by to deliver the Hall of Fame Award to Station 2 at 2016 East Main Street in Richmond. The burger and craft beer restaurant was built in the former home of Engine Company 2. The restaurant's food truck has been acing health inspections over the last two years.
