MIDLOTHIAN, VA (WWBT) - Both lanes of Midlothian Turnpike are back open after crews finished their paving project.
The paving was supposed to be completed by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, but officials have confirmed that the construction on Route 60 westbound between Alverser Drive and Old Buckingham Road wrapped up around 4:15.
The paving will continue on Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The paving project will widen the The one-and-a-quarter mile stretch of road from four lanes to six and is expected to be completed by summer of next year.
