The top six spots held steady in our final poll of the regular season.  Monacan’s regular season is over and they are in the clubhouse at 9-1.  Henrico and Hopewell each moved up two spots after upset wins.  Lee-Davis and Thomas Dale both dropped two spots with losses:

1. LC Bird (9-0) – The Skyhawks hold on to the top spot after steamrolling Huguenot 55-0. (Last week, #1; vs. James River)

2. Hermitage (9-0) – The Panthers hold on to the #2 spot with a convincing 43-8 win over Glen Allen.  The Panthers close the season with a battle of unbeatens against Freeman. (Last week, #2; vs. Douglas Freeman)

3. Highland Springs (8-1) – The Springers posted their fourth consecutive shutout with a 42-0 win over Patrick Henry. (Last week, #3; at vs. Varina)

4. Douglas Freeman (9-0) – The Rebels won a rivalry game against Godwin 21-0 to stay perfect and setup their showdown with fellow unbeaten, Hermitage. (Last week, #4; at Hermitage)

5. Monacan (9-1) – The Chiefs closed out the regular season with a tough win over Manchester.  The Chiefs have a bye week before the start of the playoffs. (Last week, #5; bye week)

6. Benedictine (7-1) – Benedictine took care of Fork Union to hold on to the 6th spot in this week’s poll. (Last week, #6; at Liberty Christian)

7. Henrico (7-2) – The Warriors recovered a fumble in the final minute of the game to upset Lee-Davis in our game of the week and were rewarded with a two-spot increase in this week’s poll. (Last week, #9; at Hanover)

8. Hopewell (7-2) – Hopewell won a top-10 game with an upset of Thomas Dale Friday and move up two spots in this week’s poll. (Last week, #10; at Prince George)

9. Lee-Davis (7-2) – The Confederates fell at Henrico and dropped two spots in this week’s poll as a result. (Last week, #7; vs. Patrick Henry)

10. Thomas Dale (6-3) – The Knights lost for the second straight week and come in at #10 this week. (Last week, #8; at Matoaca)

T-11. Hanover (6-3) – The Hawks got back in the win column with a 50-12 victory over Armstrong and move up one spot in this week’s poll. (Last week, #12; vs. Henrico)

T-11. Manchester (6-3) – The Chiefs lost a top-12 matchup against Monacan Friday but remain in the 11th spot in this week’s poll. (Last week, #11; at Cosby)
