Jimmy Fallon Accident Prone?

(WWBT) -

Last week, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon fell, dropping a bottle of Jägermeister as he received the Harvard Lampoon’s Elmer Award for Excellence in Humor.  That fall required several stitches at a hospital in Cambridge, Mass. The incident follows three other injuries in four months, one of them causing him to almost have a finger ripped off. He also chipped a tooth in a fall in August.

As a result, the New York Post is reporting that sources say NBC is worried that Fallon's drinking has turned excessive, and while they're not doing anything about it yet, "it's gone from being a whisper to a chatter."

The source told The New York post that Fallon has been dealing with the newfound stress of hosting The Tonight Show by hitting the bottle. The source said hosting The Tonight Show is a very high stress, lonely job.

"There is so much money at stake, the pressure is enormous," the source told The New York Post.

An NBC spokesperson responded to the allegations by saying Fallon "is a highly valued member of the NBC family who is both a tireless worker and an extraordinarily gifted performer."

"His dedication in putting on a great show each and every night is unparalleled, and that is reflected in the large amount of viewers who tune in — he frequently out-performs the broadcast competition combined. We are proud of his accomplishments on and off camera and look forward to working with him for many years to come."
