CAROLINE, VA (WWBT) - Virginia State Police have ruled the death of a driver following a crash on I-95 in Caroline County a homicide.
Police identified the driver as 43-year-old Vernon Huff.
Officers say Huff was found shot multiple times after crashing his car on Interstate 95 near the Route 207 exit, around 2:40 a.m. on October 30. Huff was transported by helicopter to VCU Medical Center. He later died from his wounds.
Police say the man was shot before the crash, but its unclear if the shots were fired in the vehicle, while he was driving or before he got on the interstate.
