CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -
A driver faces a charge of reckless driving in a crash that tied up traffic on Tuesday morning in Chester.
A vehicle was headed east on Route 10 around 6:30 a.m. when another vehicle tried to turn left onto Old Bermuda Hundred Road in front of it, according to Chesterfield Police. The two crashed, causing the turning car to flip and the other car to catch fire, police said.
A man claiming to be the driver of the car which caught fire said bystanders pulled a mother and toddler from the overturned car, but police have not confirmed that information.
No one was injured in either vehicle. The driver attempting the left turn has not been identified, but faces a reckless driving charge. The crash closed several lanes on East Hundred Road, causing backups on I-95 south.
