MIDLOTHIAN, VA (WWBT) -

A 4-year-old boy is finally out of neurosurgery, but he is still sedated.

Branden Witt had type one Chiari Malformation Decompression surgery on Monday. The operation means he won't be able to trick-or-treat on Halloween, so neighbors in Chesterfield organized a special early celebration for him.

Branden turned 4-years-old in July, and like any child, he is excited about dressing up for Halloween and getting "lots of candy." His parents, Carol and Bobby Witt, made flyers and asked neighbors if they would help fulfill their child's wish of being able to trick or treat this year.

Saturday evening, Branden toured their Swift Creek Crossing neighborhood with sisters Ashlee and Maggie, brothers Jeremy and Jacob, and his aunts and uncles. Neighbors served them treats for the special early Halloween party.

Branden's parents were elated and overwhelmed after more than 41 neighbors opened their doors and took part.
