RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A man has been arrested after he allegedly sent a threatening text message referencing the recent Oregon shooting and advising to stay away from VCU, according to VCU Police.

The text message was sent to a person not affiliated with the college, but that person contacted VCU Police. Investigators found the message came from Woodbridge, Va. and contacted the Prince William County Police Department.

Police interviewed the suspect, Nathaniel Antonio Brache, 22, and determined that there was no credible threat to the school or person who received the text. Police say the suspect admitted to sending the text in order to anger the person who received it.

Brache has been charged with sending a threatening text message, a misdemeanor.
