Chesterfield Police arrest triple homicide suspect

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield Police have arrested a man accused of killing three people Wednesday night.

Carl V. Hughes IV, 28, is now in custody. He is charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

Chesterfield Police responded to a home in the 3200 block of Walmsley Blvd. after receiving a report from Richmond Police, saying a man trying to jump off the Robert E. Lee Bridge had just killed his family.

Police are not releasing the names of the victims at this time.
